Every teacher submits evidence of a recognised teaching qualification — CELTA, DELTA, PGCE, QTS, or a national equivalent — before their profile goes live. We check the certificate. If it does not check out, the teacher does not get listed.
We verify qualifications. Identity and experience checks are described on our verification page.
Teacher profiles show qualifications, experience, specialisms, CEFR levels, and hourly rates. Students compare teachers on criteria that matter — not on who paid for the most prominent placement. Pro membership may provide additional visibility, but relevance comes first.
Students contact teachers directly — by email, WhatsApp, or their preferred method — and start lessons online. No platform inbox, no intermediary, no commission taken from lessons. The relationship is between student and teacher.

I have been teaching English for over 30 years — in classrooms, in corporate boardrooms, and online. I founded Elite Language Solutions in Southampton and have spent decades preparing students for IELTS, Cambridge, and SELT examinations.
I built FindEnglishTeacher.com because I believe qualified English teachers deserve a platform that understands their profession. And students deserve to know that the person they are trusting with their exam preparation holds a verified teaching qualification.
FindEnglishTeacher.com is built on the foundation of Elite Language Solutions. It is not a technology company that discovered education — it is an English teaching business that built a marketplace.
FindEnglishTeacher.com is in its early stages. We are building carefully — prioritising the quality of the teacher community over the appearance of scale. Right now we have a small number of verified teacher profiles and are actively recruiting qualified teachers to join the Founding 100.
We will not inflate our teacher numbers, fabricate reviews, or claim a scale we have not reached. When we have 100 verified teachers, we will say so. When we have genuine student reviews, we will display them.
